When you delete a SMS text message on your Apple iPhone it will be removed from the user interface and remain hidden until the memory space is used for something else. If you want to recover a SMS text message, use a data recovery software application to recover deleted messages from your iPhone's database. You will need to install the data recovery software on your computer and then recover the text message from your iPhone.
Step 1
Click on the "Messages" icon to view the list of SMS text messages on your Apple iPhone. Tap the "Edit" button located near the top of the display screen. Your most recent SMS text messages will be displayed near the top of the list. Tap on the "Clear Conversation" button and then tap on the "Delete" button remove and hide the entire text message from your iPhone's user interface. To recover a deleted text message on your Apple iPhone, proceed to the next step.

Download and install a data recovery software application such as iPhone Data Recovery and Mobile Phone Data Recover" on your computer. You can also use a USB data recovery device such as the iPhone Spy Software Stick to help you recover deleted text messages on your Apple iPhone.

Go to your desktop and double-click on the data recovery icon after the installation process is complete to launch the application. If you prefer to use a USB data recovery stick, plug the device into an open USB port on your computer. Then run the data recovery software program. In a few moments the application will automatically begin scanning your iPhone for your deleted data files.
Step 4
Connect one end of the USB cable that came with your Apple iPhone into a USB port on your computer. Select the type of media that you want the data recovery software to recover. Click on the "Start" or "Scan" button.
Step 5
Wait until the data recovery software application finishes scanning your iPhone for the deleted data. The process may take several minutes to complete, depending on how much data you Apple iPhone have on it. Scroll down the list of files names and select the SMS text message that you want to retrieve.
Step 6
Click on the "Browse" button to locate the file path where you want to save the deleted text message on your computer. Click on the "Save" button when you're done.
