How to Make a Digital Booklet

By Joy Campbell

Digital Booklets are electronic versions of printed material formatted in the PDF (portable document format) file type. PDFs allow the conversion of a variety of file formats that will keep the original font style, color and graphics, regardless of the software used to create it. CD booklets are popular in music as artists transform their paper CD booklets into digital booklets.

Step 1

Create your booklet in your favorite software such as Microsoft Word, Photoshop, Quark or Paint.

Step 2

Download and open a PDF program. Examples include Adobe Acrobat, PrimoPDF, NitroPDF Professional, PDF Suite or use a Print Postscript interpreter through Ghost script.

Step 3

Import your files into your PDF program and save.

Tips & Warnings

  • When you select the "Print PDF" option from your printer file menu, you are not looking for an actual printer like you would have on your desk, but a digital printer that will create a file to your desktop.
