How to Name Stamp Your Photos

Protect your intellectual property by placing a name stamp of your photos.

When posted to social media and other online file sharing sites, anyone can download and use your pictures without your permission and use them as their own. Prevent this from happening by name stamping your photos. Name stamps are also known as watermarks. They are subtle stamps on the photos that include your name or company. They are used to copyright material and protect your pictures from misuse.

PicMarkr

Step 1

Navigate to the PicMarkr site. Click on the "Choose File" button in the "Upload Pictures" section.

Select your picture from your computer's directory and click the "OK" button. Select up to five pictures.

Click on the blue "OK! Go to Step 2" button located under the "Upload Pictures" section.

Step 4

Select the "Text Watermark" option. Type the text you want in the "Text to Display" textbook. Choose the opacity and color in the "Presets" section. Click on the placement of the watermark on your picture in the "Watermark Alignment" section.

Click on the "Continue" button located under the preview picture. Click on the "Download Image" button to download the image to your computer. You now have name stamped your photos.

Watermark Tool

Step 1

Navigate to the Watermark Tool site. Click on the "Choose File" button in the "Upload" section.

Select your picture from your computer's directory and click the "OK" button. Select up 10 images.

Click on the gray "Upload" button located under the "Upload" section.

Check the "Apply Text Watermark" check box. Type the text you want in the "Text" textbook. Choose the font, text size, text color, text transparency and text position in the "Personalize" section.

Step 5

Click on the "Generate" button located at the bottom of the page. Right-click on the watermarked image and select the "Save as" option. Save the file to your computer. You now name stamped your photos.

Photoshop

Step 1

Open Adobe Photoshop. Click on the "File" tab on the top toolbar. Select the "Open" option.

Select your picture from your computer's directory and click the "Open" button.

Click the "Text" tool on the left column. Click on the area you want to type. Type the text you want in the text box.

Click on the "Layer" tab and select the layer with your text. Click on the "Downward Arrow" in the "Opacity" section and move the slider to change the opacity.

Change the font, font size and font color on the top toolbar.

Step 6

Click on the "Move" tool in the left column. Click and hold the text box. Drag it to the position you want the watermark.

Click on the "File" tab on the top toolbar. Select the "Save as" option. Save the file to your computer. You now have name stamped your photos.
