How to Open Rfa Files

An .rfa file extension indicates a Autodesk Revit file. Autodesk Revit is a software application made by Microsoft and used by architects and engineers to design and model. If you come across a file with the extension .rfa, you will need to download the Autodesk software to view it. It will take 10 to 15 minutes to complete the process.

Step 1

Open a browser and go to the Autodesk website.

Click on "Product Trial" on the main menu to the far left.

Step 3

Fill out the information that the page asks for including your name, your address and your phone number. You will also need to type in your email address. Click the "Submit" button.

Select your language on the next page with the drop down menu.

Step 5

Click the link "Autodesk Revit Architecture 2010" about two-thirds of the way down the page. This will begin the download of the software.

Step 6

Follow the prompts and instructions to install the software.

Step 7

Open the software. Click "File" in the main menu bar. Scroll down and click "Open."

Step 8

Browse for your .rfa file. Highlight it in the dialog box and click "Open."
