MP3 and MP4 players give you the ability to enjoy both audio and video files that you have transferred from your computer on a small, portable device. These devices may malfunction for a variety of reasons, including a faulty file on the player or the memory on the player being completely filled. One way to troubleshoot an MP3 or MP4 player is to reset the device. The exact method for resetting these media players varies based upon the device that you own.
Reset Button Method
Slide the Hold switch to the Off position.
Locate the Reset button on the player. It will likely be on the back of the MP3/MP4 player, and it will most likely be no bigger than a pinhole.
Press a pin or tack into the Reset button for 7 to 10 seconds. The player will reset.
Non-Reset Button Method
Slide the Hold switch on the player to On.
Wait two seconds and slide the Hold switch back to Off.
Hold down the Menu and Scroll buttons located on the player for 7 to 10 seconds. The device will reset.
