Wind, rain and snow may adversely affect the signal a dish receiver can transmit. When these signals become compromised by weather or a power outage, there is a way to reset the receiver, allowing the programming to resume and be up to date. This reset will require the receiver to acquire the satellite signals. Once these five signals have been acquired, the dish receiver will work properly again.

Step 2

Plug the receiver back into the wall unit. Wait for the unit to power back on. This may take a few minutes.

Step 3

Watch for the blue menu to come on the television. This menu will state the status of the dish acquiring the satellite signal. This process takes about five minutes. When the process is complete, the dish 500 is reset and ready to use. The guide may stay on "To Be Announced" for up to one hour after the reset.
