How to Rotate a Text Box in Microsoft Publisher

When inserting text via a text box in Microsoft Publisher, use the rotation handle on the text box to instantly rotate it to any angle. Alternately, use the the rotation controls under the Home tab to rotate text boxes at preset or manual angles.

Rotation Handle

Click anywhere within the text box to select it.

Place your cursor over the round-shaped rotation handle over the text box and then click and hold down the mouse button.

Drag the cursor to the left or the right to rotate the text box.

Release the cursor to finish rotating the text box.

Home Group Arrange Controls

Select the text box and then open the Home tab. On the Arrange tab, click the Rotate button.

Rotate Text Box 90° to the Right

Click the Rotate Right 90° option to automatically rotate the text box 90 degrees to the right.

Use the Rotate Left 90° icon to rotate the text box 90 degrees to the left.

Manually Insert Rotation Angle

Click More Rotation Options to open the Format Text Box window.

Enter the angle that you want to rotate the text box into the Rotation field under the Size tab; for example, 180 degrees. Click OK to rotate the text box to the defined angle.
