Outlook is Microsoft's email and calendar program that integrates with Microsoft Office. It is used by many corporations as the default email client. iCal is the calendar application for Mac OS X. Outlook and iCal do not have an interface that allows them to connect and sync information directly. If you want your home and work calendars to contain the same information, you can use the Google calendar to act as an interface between the two applications.
Download and install Google Calendar Sync from Google (see Resources).
Provide your Google email address and password. Click on "2-way."
Specify how often you want to sync your calendars. Click "Save."
Launch iCal and click on the "Preferences" menu. Click on the "Accounts" tab and click the "+" button to add a new calendar.
Name the calendar. Type your Google email address and password.
Click on "Server Options" and add the following URL to the address box (replace "username" with your Google user name): https://firstname.lastname@example.org/user
Click "Add" to add the calendar.
