SafeLink was created by TracFone to provide free cellular service to low-income people. As a SafeLink customer, you will receive a specific amount of free air-time minutes per month. As of 2011, plans included either 68, 125 or 250 monthly minutes. Since minutes are limited, you will want to keep track of all minutes used so you will know how many are left over for the billing period. The process for tracking your remaining minutes for a SafeLink phone is the same as for TracFone users.
Power on the SafeLink cellular phone and select "Prepaid" from the main menu.
Scroll down to and select "Airtime Info" from the Prepaid menu.
Look for the remaining balance next to "Airtime Balance."
