Future Pairing

After you've initially paired the HFS001 with a mobile device or computer, future pairings are much easier. Turn the HFS001 on, hold down the Answer/End button for five seconds and release the button when the Connection Status light begins flashing rapidly. Enable Bluetooth on your mobile device or computer and the two units connect automatically.

Pairing with Your Vehicle

How you go about pairing the HFS001 with your vehicle will vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. Depending on the stereo system in your vehicle, Bluetooth may be enabled by default. On other units, you must make the stereo discoverable. In some instances, you'll find a dedicated Bluetooth button on the stereo, which you must press to activate Bluetooth. Still other car stereos have dedicated on-screen menus through which you activate Bluetooth. On some Ford vehicles with Ford SYNC technology, for instance, you press the Phone button and then OK to make the stereo discoverable.

When the stereo is discoverable, turn the HFS001 on and hold down the Multifunction button until the LED light on the unit begins rapidly flashing the color blue. In some cases, the stereo and HFS001 will pair automatically at this point. On other stereos, you may have to select the HFS001 on your stereo's screen and enter the pairing code 0000. Consult your car stereo's manual for more information about Bluetooth pairing.

Operating the HFS001

After you've paired the HFS001, operating the device is relatively straightforward. Press the Answer/End button to answer and end calls. Press the Play/Pause button to start or stop music currently playing on your mobile device, computer or car stereo. Press the FM button to transmit calls from your smartphone to your car stereo rather than to the HFS001's internal speaker.
