How to Make Things Transparent in PhotoScape

Available only for use with Windows operating systems, PhotoScape is a free digital image editing program. Similar to other image editing programs, such as those that are supplied with digital cameras, PhotoScape contains basic photo editing tools. In addition to cropping images and adjusting their brightness, you may also choose from a variety of filter effects that may be applied to your photos. These effects, such as transparency or watercolor, adjust your image to give them different appearances.

Using PhotoScape, you can apply preformatted effects to digital images.

Step 1

Launch PhotoScape and open the image for which you want to create a transparent effect. Click the "Home" tab.

Step 2

Click the "Filter" button to display a list of available image effects. Click the "Transparent" option, which opens a separate dialog window.

Step 3

Click the "Preview" check box in the Transparent window, which allows you to view the effects of the transparency filter on the image. Use the Level slide arrow to adjust the level of transparency. Click the "OK" button to apply the change to the image.
