How to Save Videos to a Flash Drive

Flash drives can be used to transport and save video files.

A flash drive allows for easy transport of files of all sorts. These files can then be viewed on any computer, anywhere. Saving videos to a flash drive removes the space-consuming video from your computer and it allows you to share the video with friends and family while on the go. A large enough flash drive can store several videos of varying sizes and formats, and once you are through with the video on the flash drive, you can simply delete it to make room for another.

Step 1

Open the folder containing the the files that you want to transfer to the flash drive.

Step 2

Select the videos you want to transfer, right-click and select copy. To make selecting the videos easier, there are several keyboard shortcuts you can use. Holding the Ctrl button while selecting files will allow you to choose multiple files Ctrl+A will highlight all of the files in the folder. Ctrl+C will copy all of the selected files.

Step 3

Open the folder for the flash drive and right-click.

Step 4

Select "Paste" from the drop-down menu and all of the videos you selected will be saved to the flash drive.

From a File Menu

Step 1

Select the "File" menu from the program you are using to create/watch/edit the video.

Step 2

Click "Save As" from the menu to open a new window.

Select the flash drive you wish to save the video to, name the file, and click "Save."


Videos take up a lot of space, so be aware of how much space is available on the flash drive and how much space is needed.
