Vizio Speaker Bar Instructions

By Dan Howard

Vizio's sound bars offer high-quality audio performance in a compact, easy-to-use design. Vizio has released a few different versions of the sound bar, all similar in terms of installation and use. If you have the HD version of the sound bar, you have one additional audio input that you can use for a high-definition S/PDIF input.

Step 1

Plug up to two analog audio cables into the "INPUT 1" and "INPUT 2" analog audio jacks located on the right side of the speaker bar's rear panel.

Step 2

Plug your subwoofer into the yellow connector in the center of the rear panel, labeled "SUB OUT."

Step 3

Plug a high-definition S/PDIF cable into the "S/PDIF" audio input jack, which is located to the left of the yellow "SUB OUT" jack. If you have the non-HD version of the Vizio sound bar, this jack is not included.

Step 4

Plug the included AC/DC power adapter into the "24V DC" jack located on the left side of the rear panel. Plug the other end of the power adapter into a wall outlet.

Step 5

Press the power button on the left side of the top panel to turn on your speaker bar.

Step 6

Press the "Input" button on the top panel to cycle through the devices connected via the "INPUT 1," "INPUT 2," and "S/PDIF" audio jacks.

Step 7

Control the speaker bar volume with the "Vol -", "Vol +" and "Mute" buttons.

Step 8

Press the "TVOL" button to set the speaker bar to level the volume of the audio input. This feature prevents the volume from becoming louder during commercials or louder parts of a program.

Step 9

Press the "TSHD" button to toggle surround sound on and off.
