Celebrate National Reading Month With the Reading Rainbow App

March is national reading month, and what better way to celebrate than with a free month-long subscription to Reading Rainbow's digital library, Skybrary.

Skybrary is a "carefully curated, ever expanding interactive library of digital books and video explorations designed to engage young readers and foster a love of learning."

Created by LeVar Burton, the host of the original Reading Rainbow in thee '80s and '90s (you know, the guy everyone wanted to be their dad/best friend/librarian), the website and app offer hundreds of children's books from celebrated authors and publishers.

There are fun story time options that feature narrations by LeVar Burton and other storytellers. A parent dashboard allows parents to track their kids' progress and find book recommendations.

Skybrary is available on the web, iPhone, iPad, Kindle Fire, and Android tablets. The month of March is free, and after that a subscription costs $4.99 per month or $39.99 annually. Parents can set up an account and then create profiles for up to five kids. Click here to get started.
