Amazon delivery drivers have a tough job. Every time you order a something from the retail giant — whether it's something big or small — an overworked driver stops at your home to deliver it. Considering how many items you order things from Amazon, especially during the holiday season, there's probably a driver coming to your house nearly every day.

To show a small amount of appreciation for your drivers, Amazon announced a program that'll tip your most recent driver $5 if you say, "Alexa, thank my driver" to your Echo device. The driver will be notified of your appreciation and the tip will be of no cost to you.

The tips will continue for the first 1 million thank yous received, and the five drivers who receive the most thank yous from customers during the promotional period will receive $10,000 and an additional $10,000 to their charity of choice.

"Amazon has a long-standing commitment to empowering and investing in delivery drivers," Beryl Tomay, Vice President of Last Mile Delivery at Amazon, wrote in a blog post. "While this thank-you is another moment for us to express our gratitude, it certainly will not be the last, and we look forward to finding additional opportunities to celebrate the drivers who deliver smiles for customers."

Five dollars may not feel like enough for overworked delivery drivers (because it isn't), but it's something.
