How do I Program an LG DVD Remote Control?
LG is an electronics company that produces many different products. One of these is a DVD player that can be connected to nearly any television. LG DVD players come with a remote control that lets you play, pause and rewind movies without having to move back and forth from the DVD player. LG remotes can also be programmed to operate your television, so you don't have to use two different remotes to change the volume or setting while enjoying a DVD.
Things You'll Need
- LG DVD remote control
Insert batteries into your LG DVD player remote control. Do this by removing the cover on the back of the remote and putting the batteries in corresponding to the "+" and "-" connections printed inside of the cover.
Turn on your television using the original remote or the "Power" button on the front of the device.
Find the manufacturer's code for your TV in the user's guide that came with your LG DVD player. This is a one-digit number listed by brand, not model, in the user's guide. If you do not have a copy of the user's guide, you can download one from the LG support website.
Hold down the "TV Power" button that is located on the upper, right-hand corner of your LG remote. While holding it down, enter in the number that corresponds to the manufacturer of your TV into the number pad at the center of the remote with your other hand. Once you have pressed the correct number, release the "TV Power" button.
Aim the remote at your TV and press the "TV Power" button. The TV should turn off. Turn it back on and test the other buttons on the remote, making sure your TV responds fully. If it does not, repeat the process using a different code for your brand of television until you find a code that gives you full functionality with your LG DVD player remote.
