The Panasonic Program Director MB series of universal remote controls were included with Panasonic Omnivision VCRs. There are several remotes in the series, but they all have the same programming instructions. You can set the Program Director MB series remotes to control a TV, cable box or satellite TV receiver. Like most older universal remote controls, you program your Panasonic Program Director MB remote using a manufacturer's code.

Step 1

Find the manufacturer remote code for the device you are programming the remote to use.

Step 2

Hold down the "TV" to program the remote for a TV, or "DSS CABLE" for a cable or satellite TV receiver.

Step 3

Enter the manufacturer code on the keypad. If the remote code has three digits, enter "100" then the other two numbers. If the remote code is 117, press "10017" on the keypad.

Step 4

Release the "TV" or "DSS/CABLE" button and test the code by pressing "POWER." Some manufacturers have more than one code. If the device responds, the code is correct. If not, try the next code.
