How to Accept or Reject Tracked Changes in a Microsoft Word Document

Okay, you've used the tracked changes feature, but now you want to get rid of all those marks! Here's how to do that for a Microsoft Word 97 or Word 2000 (for PC) or Word 98 (for Macintosh) document.

Things You'll Need

  • Microsoft Word

Step 1

Select the changed text.

Step 2

Go to the Tools menu and select Track Changes.

Step 3

Select Accept or Reject Changes.

Step 4

In the dialog box that appears, use the Accept or Reject buttons to accept or reject the selected changes.

Step 5

To accept or reject more changes, use the Find buttons to go to the previous or next change.

Tips & Warnings

  • To accept or reject all the changes in a document at once, click Accept All or Reject All in the Accept or Reject Changes dialog box.
  • You can also accept or reject changes with the Reviewing toolbar. To open the Reviewing toolbar, go to the View menu and select Toolbars, then select Reviewing.
