Both Tracfone and Verizon Wireless cell phones use a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card. This card lets you switch networks with ease. However, you will need to unlock your phone to remove any restrictions. Tracfone will provide you with an unlock code. Once the phone is unlocked, you can have your phone flashed and activated to the Verizon Wireless network. Verizon will also install a new SIM card for your phone.

Step 5

Bring your phone with you to your nearest Verizon store. Ask to have your phone flashed and activated to the network. Flashing removes the Tracfone software and replaces it with Verizon's software. Upon activation of the phone, the Verizon associate will insert a new SIM card for your phone to let you access the network.

Step 6

Pay any fees associated with flashing and activating your phone. Choose a plan that best fits your budget and your needs.
