Printer ink cartridges

If you have a Brother printer or copier, you may have a little trouble determining when you are out of ink. Since Brother printers typically have four ink cartridges of different colors in each printer and the low ink indicator does not let you know which one is out of ink, you may be confused. There is an easy way to find out which of your ink cartridges are low and which ones need to be replaced.

Step 1

Open the Brother Control Center on your computer by clicking on "Start," "Programs" and "Brother Control Center." If you cannot find the program, click on "Start" and then type "Brother Control Center" in the search bar. Click the title to go to the program.

Step 2

Click on the "Device Settings" button once you have opened the Brother Control Center. You will be presented with a menu of items that you can check.

Step 3

Click on the icon that says "Ink Level." This causes an printer-shaped icon to show up in your task bar (the bar at the bottom of your computer screen). Click on the printer icon and you are presented with a graphic of the ink levels of each of the ink cartridges in your printer. You should be able to easily tell which ones are fine and which ones are low and need to be replaced soon.
