The Panasonic Viera is a line of HDTVs with 12 to 18 connection ports, depending on the model, for hooking up other AV components. The Viera is equipped with the two most common video ports for connecting a PC or laptop with either a high definition media interface (HDMI) cable or a video graphics array (VGA) cable for connecting to the video port commonly found on older computers and laptops. Either connection can be made directly to a PC without an adapter or any special wiring.
Viera and PC HDMI Cable Connection
Disconnect the Viera from the electrical outlet and shut down the PC.
Video of the Day
Plug in one end of the HDMI cable to any of the three matching ports on the back panel of the Viera. On some Viera models, a fourth HDMI port is available on the left side of the TV cabinet. Align the shape of the plug with the outline of the port to connect the cable.
Insert the plug on the other end into an HDMI port on the back of the computer tower or along the edge of a laptop.
Connect Viera to PC with VGA Cable
Unplug the Viera from the electrical outlet and shut down the PC.
Attach one end of the VGA cable to the labeled "D-sub 15-pin port" on the left side of the Viera cabinet by lining up the three rows of plug pins with the connection holes inside the port.
Push the plug on the other end onto the video port on the back of the computer tower or laptop edge. This is the same port normally used for hooking up a monitor to the computer.
