How to Convert a PDF to a CAD Drawing

If you have a PDF file that you want to be able to edit in AutoCAD you will need to get that PDF into a CAD file for editing. If you need to convert a PDF into a CAD Drawing file, which is a DWG file, then you can do so with a converter program. AutoDWG PDF to DWG Converter is a CAD converter that can take PDF files and convert them into DWG files that can be edited in AutoCAD. It is easy to use and will quickly give you DWG files that you can edit.

Step 1

Download and install AutoDWG PDF to DWG Converter from the AutoDWG website. This software comes with a free trial but you do have to pay to keep it. If you prefer, AutoDWG can convert single PDF files by email for a charge of $10 per page. To do that, just send your PDF file to info@autodwg.com.

Step 2

Launch AutoDWG PDF to DWG Converter on your computer. The screen is a simple screen with few options. Click the "..." button by "Input File" to select the PDF that you want to convert.

Step 3

Decide how you want the file created. You have to choose either "Convert into a single DWG" or "A DWG file per page."

Step 4

Select your AutoCad version from the drop down menu by "DWG Version." Be sure that DWG is select instead of DXF.

Step 5

Click the "..." by "Output File" to select the location on your computer that you want the converted DWG file to be saved.

Step 6

Click "Convert" to convert the PDF to DWG. When the files finish converting the "View It" button will be clickable.
