How to Convert CSV to Qbo

By Bill Richards

CSV, or comma separated value, is a very simple file format that stores an Excel spreadsheet-like table of information inside a file, with each value separated by a single comma. A QBO, or QuickBOoks file, is the file format used by QuickBooks Financial software. Converting to QBO is necessary to share financial information between multiple users of Intuit Quickbooks.

Step 1

Download the plug-in for QuickBooks that allows you to import CSV files directly into QuickBooks (see resources).

Step 2

Import your CSV into QuickBooks by clicking File>Open.

Step 3

Go to File>Save and save the file as a QBO file.
