How to Delete Multiple Messages in AOL Mail

AOL Mail is one of the premier email providers on the Internet. When you want to get rid of several emails, deleting one at a time can be a daunting and time consuming task. However, AOL Mail allows you to delete multiple consecutive and non-consecutive emails. This simple process allows you to get rid of unwanted emails quickly to keep your mail account organized and clutter free.

Step 1

Log into your AOL Mail account (see Resources).

Press and hold the "Ctrl" key, and click all the emails you want to delete if you want to remove non-consecutive emails. If you want to delete consecutive emails, press and hold the "Shift" key and click the first email you want to delete. Hold the "Shift" key again and click the last email you want to delete. This selects all the emails between the first and last email you selected.

Step 3

Click the "Delete" button and then click "OK" to confirm your selection.

Step 4

Repeat steps 2 and 3 if you want to delete multiple emails from the "Saved on AOL" and "Saved on My PC" folders.

Step 5

Click the "Mail" menu and click "Recently Deleted Mail" if you want to clear multiple emails from the "Recently Deleted" folder.

Step 6

Press and hold the "Ctrl" key and click all the emails you want to delete if you want to remove non-consecutive emails. If you want to delete consecutive emails, press and hold the "Shift" key and click the first email you want to delete. Hold the "Shift" key again and click the last email you want to delete. This selects all the emails between the first and last email you selected.

Step 7

Click the "Permanently Delete" button.
