In Microsoft Office Outlook, when an email is forwarded to a recipient, the email can be tracked. Tracking a forwarded email lets you view when -- or indeed if -- the email has been received and read by the recipient, and if the email has been forwarded to any other recipient. The tracking email feature is available in all versions of Outlook, and it can be used by anyone who has the appropriate know-how.
Click "Start," "All Programs," then click "Microsoft Office Outlook."
Click "New" on the "Message" tab to create a new email. Or, if you want to work on an existing email, click the email in the "Inbox."
Click "Options" then click "Follow Up." This is the term Outlook uses for "Tracking." Click "Flag for Recipients."
Click "Flag for Me" then click "OK."
Open the original email to view your tracked email, click the "InfoBar," then click the "Open Original Flagged Message" button.
