How to Delete Photos From Nikon Coolpix 5600

By Jennifer Malloy

Before digital cameras, you had to take your chances when it came to having photos developed. You never knew how your photos would turn out, because you couldn’t see them before they were developed. Digital cameras make it easy to view and delete photos while they’re still stored in the camera. The Nikon Coolpix 5600 gives photographers the option of deleting photos individually or all at once, so you’ll be left with only the ones you want.

Delete Individual Photos

Step 1

Press the “Play” button on the back of the camera. The button shows an icon of a right-pointing arrow inside a rectangle.

Step 2

Press the “Menu” button on the back of the camera, then press the “Delete” button, which looks like a trash can.

Step 3

Use the multi selector's up and down arrows to highlight “Erase Selected Images,” then press the right arrow on the multi selector.

Step 4

Push the multi selector arrows left and right to scroll through your photos, which will appear as thumbnail images on the LCD display. Highlight a photo you want to delete. You will know when a photo is highlighted because a trash-can icon appears on it.

Step 5

Press the multi selector up arrow to select the photo for deletion. Continue scrolling through your photos and selecting them for deletion.

Step 6

Press the “OK” button in the middle of the multi selector. A confirmation message will appear. Highlight “Yes” with the up or down arrow and press the “OK” button.
