How to Get a Live Rep With Comcast Customer Service

Getting a live rep when contacting customer support for major companies can be difficult, as many companies have invested in automated menus. Nevertheless, speaking with a live representative is usually possible. With the cable company Comcast, you can speak with a live rep by failing to properly complete the automated menu prompts three times. After a brief hold, you'll be connected to a customer support specialist.

Step 1

Call Comcast at (800) 266-2278. Input your telephone number when prompted, or push "1" if the system recognizes your phone number and asks if it's correct.

Step 2

Push "#" when given the choice of automated menu options. The system will respond with "sorry, we don't understand." Repeat this twice when give the menu options again.

Step 3

Choose the department in which you want to speak to a live representative. Push "1" for technical support. Push "2" for billing. Push "3" for sales.

Step 4

Wait patiently on hold while the system connects you with a live rep.


Instead of pushing "#," you can bypass the menu by pushing nothing. After three tries, the system will connect you to a live rep.
