People who own an iPhone will likely tell you that they use it for communication, entertainment and convenience. With an iPhone, you can listen to music, watch movies, surf the web and get directions to your destination. Many people also use their iPhones to check their email. There are two ways to get email on your iPhone: automatically (which means it is downloaded to your phone at regular intervals) or manually (which means it is only downloaded to your phone when you open the mail application).
Enabling Auto-Fetch Email
Touch the "Settings" icon on your iPhone.
Touch the "Mail, Contacts, and Calendars" option.
Touch "Fetch New Data."
Touch the On/Off button next to the word "Push" to turn the feature on.
Select how often you want your iPhone to check for new mail. Touch "Every 15 Minutes," "Every 30 Minutes" or "Hourly."
Press the home button on your iPhone to return to the home screen. Your new email settings have been saved.
The more often your phone checks for email, the more quickly your battery will be drained of power.
