How to Record Lectures on the iPhone

The iPhone, a popular smartphone produced by Apple, comes with a number of factory-installed utility applications. One such utility is the Voice Memos app, which allows you to record audio and save the recording as a file on the iPhone. If you are taking a class or attending a business meeting and you’d like to record the lecturer’s presentation, you can use the Voice Memos app to do so with just a few basic steps.

The Voice Memos app is stored in the Utilities folder by default.

Step

Tap the "Utilities" folder on the iPhone's home screen, then tap the "Voice Memos" icon to launch the application.

Step

Aim the microphone, located on the bottom edge of the iPhone, toward the lecturer. This will ensure that you get the best possible audio recording.

Step

Tap the "Record" button to begin recording the audio. When you are finished recording the lecture, tap the "Pause" button to pause the recording. You can access the recording on your iPhone by tapping the "List" button in the Voice Memos application. This button is labeled with an icon that resembles three horizontal stripes.
