How to Make a Conference Call on a Panasonic Phone

By Megan Mattingly-Arthur

If you have an important conference call coming up but aren't sure how to make it happen on your Panasonic phone, the good news is that conference calling with Panasonic is quick and easy. Whether your Panasonic phone is a single-line or multiline phone you'll be ready and connected in no time by following a few simple steps.

Making a Conference Call on a Single-Line Phone

Step 1

Make a regular two-party call on your Panasonic phone and ask the person on the other line to wait for a moment.

Step 2

Check to see if your Panasonic phone has a flash key feature. If it does, press the flash key down and wait until you hear the confirmation tone. If the Panasonic phone you're using does not have a flash key, hold down the the hook switch for half a second, then release.

Step 3

Dial the number of the third person in your conference call. If you're inviting someone in-house to be a part of your conference call, dial their extension number instead. If you're dialing an outside line you may need to dial 9 before dialing the number.

Step 4

Wait for the new addition to the conference call to answer and then press the Flash key again. Wait an additional two or three seconds before pressing the number three on your telephone keypad.

Step 5

Start your conference call. Once you've pressed the flash key followed by the number 3, as in Step 4, your conference call is established. If you wish to add additional participants simply repeat Steps 3 and 4.

Making a Conference Call on a Multiline Phone

Step 1

Make a regular two-party call on your Panasonic phone and ask the person on the other line to wait for a moment.

Step 2

Check to see if your Panasonic phone has a conf. or conference mode button. If it does, hold down the conf. button until you hear the confirmation code.

Step 3

Dial the phone number of the person you want to add to the conference call. If the number you're calling is an in-house number you can simply dial that person's extension number. If the number you're calling is not an in-house number you may need to dial 9 to get an outside line before dialing.

Step 4

Press the conf. button. Your conference call has been established. If you wish to add any additional participants to your conference call, simply repeat Steps 3 and 4.

Tips & Warnings

  • If there are people in your conference call who will be primarily listening as opposed to doing most of the speaking during the conference call, you may wish to ask them to mute themselves to reduce the level of background noise.
  • The maximum number of people you can have participating in a conference call on a Panasonic phone is eight.
