Assigning extensions to a phone system is essential if you work in an office, but you can also use this technology in your home if you have a multi-line phone. Setting up extensions allows you to transfer a call to another phone in your home or office. The recipient can answer the call on that extension without tying up your phone line. You can set up extensions on your phone through your phone menu.
Press the "Menu/Set" key. Scroll down the menu and highlight "Phone setup." Press the "Menu/Set" key to select that option.
Scroll down the menu and highlight "Extension No." Press the "Menu/Set" key.
Scroll through the available extension numbers or key in an extension number. Press the "Menu/Set" key to save the extension number to your phone system. Continue this process to assign additional extensions.
Press the "Menu/Set" key or "Home" key to return to the standby mode.
Confirm that the extensions are set up properly by transferring a call to the extension. Press the "Transfer" button while on a call. Enter the extension number and wait for the other phone line to ring. This confirms that the extension is active.
