How to Make a Word Document Into a Picture

By Christina Shaffer

Converting a Microsoft Word document to a digital image is an extremely easy process. Whether you want to insert the image into a presentation or create custom desktop wallpaper, you can use Microsoft Paint to convert your document into an image format. This method will work on PCs with Windows 7, Vista or XP.

Step 1

Go to "Start," click "All Programs" and open Microsoft Word.

Step 2

Click the round "Quick Access" button and open the document you want to convert.

Step 3

Click on the "Select" toolbar option and choose "Select All." Right-click on any highlighted area in your document and select "Copy" from the context menu.

Step 4

Click on "Start," select "All Programs" and open the "Accessories" folder. Next, click on the "Paint" program. You will notice a white, blank painting canvas on the main program screen.

Step 5

Click on the "Edit" tab and select "Paste." Your document will be pasted on the canvas.

Step 6

Click on the "File" tab and select the "Save As" option. You will be prompted to name your file and choose a file output type. Click on the "Save as type" drop-down menu and select your preferred image file (e.g., JPEG, GIF, BMP, TIFF or PNG).
