If you want to create your own signs or banners, you can print large letters on single pieces of paper to put them together. The easiest way to do this is to use word processing programs such as Word 2013. You can print one letter per page, but you may need to experiment to get the right font size.

Step

Create a new document. Select the font you want to use from the drop-down list in the Font section of the toolbar at the top of the page. Common options include Times New Roman, Arial and Helvetica.

Step

Click the "Center" icon in the Paragraph section on the toolbar, if you want to center your letter on the page. In Word 2013, this is the second option in the row of four buttons that show text lines in different positions.

Step

Click the arrow on the Font Size box next to the Font box on the toolbar. This gives you the option of increasing text size to a maximum of 72 points. This won't be big enough to fit a large letter to a page, so you'll need to key in your own point size. Type "600" into the Font Size box to get started and press the "Enter" key on your keyboard.

Step

Type your letter on the page. If the letter is too big or too small, highlight it with your mouse, type a bigger or smaller number into the Font Size box and press "Enter" to change it. You can also change font size by using the Increase and Decrease buttons next to the Font Size box, once you've highlighted your letter.

Step

Click the "File" tab on the top menu when you are done. Select "Print" from the menu and amend your print settings if you need to. Click the "Print" button at the top of the page when you're ready to print your sheets.
