Many types of Apex products, including televisions and DVD players, are operated by remote control. If the remote control is lost or breaks, the device is more difficult to control, as the user is forced to walk to the device to use it. Instead of trying to find a replacement remote control, you can purchase an Apex universal remote control. Unlike other universal remote controls, Apex remote controls are only compatible with Apex products.
Turn on the device you want to program to the Apex universal remote control.
Press and hold the "Setup" button and the device button you want to control your component until the device button's indicator light turns on.
Consult the Apex universal remote control manual for programming codes. The codes are listed by brand name.
Point the remote control at the component and enter the first code from the list. The device should turn off. If it does not turn off, keep entering codes on the list until one of them works and the device shuts off.
Save the setting to your remote control by pressing the "Setup" button. The indicator light will turn off. You can now use your remote control with the device.
Repeat steps 1 to 5 to program the rest of your devices to the remote control.
