How to Reset My Email Password

Email is one of the best ways to keep in touch with people. Many people have several email accounts because of the free options online. Sites like Yahoo, Windows Live and AOL will offer an email address to anybody that wants one. If you have several email accounts and can't remember the password to one of them, you can reset the password through your email account's online portal. With just a few clicks of your mouse, you will be back into your email program and can see what you've missed.

Yahoo

Step 1

Go to the Yahoo homepage and click on the "Sign In" tab at the top of the window.

Step 2

Click on the "I Can't Access My Account" tab in the next window under the password box.

Step 3

Click on the "I Forgot My Password" tab and then click "Next." Enter your Yahoo ID into the next box and then enter the code at the bottom of the page.

Step 4

Answer the two security questions that you answered when you signed up for the account and press the "Next" button.

Step 5

Reset your password with a new one.

Windows Live

Step 1

Go to the Windows Live website and click on the "Forgot Your Password" tab.

Step 2

Enter your Windows Live ID into the box and then type the code at the bottom of the screen.

Step 3

Click on the "Continue" button.

Step 4

Log into the alternate email account that you set up when you signed up for your account.

Step 5

Click on the link that Windows Live emailed you and reset your password through the online portal.

AOL

Step 1

Go to the AOL homepage and click on the "Forgot Password" button at the bottom of the screen.

Step 2

Enter your username or your email address into the box. Enter the code into the box.

Step 3

Click on the "OK" tab at the bottom of the screen.

Step 4

Answer the account security question that you set up when you signed up for your account.

Step 5

Type your new password into the box and then retype it into the box under it. Click the "Next" button and then click "Continue."
