How to Restore my Computer to One Week Before

By default, every time you update or install a new program onto your system, a "restore point" is created. Restore points can be used to restore your computer back to the settings that were in use at an earlier time. This is often done to undo erroneous effects of installing software, but can also be helpful in combating viruses. You can restore your computer to the way it was working one week before the present date by using "System Restore."

Step

Click "Start."

Step

Click "All Programs."

Step

Click "Accessories."

Step

Click "System Tools."

Step

Click "System Restore."

Step

Click "Next."

Step

Select a date on screen that you'd like to use as your "Restore Point."

Step

Click "Next" to review the changes you are about to make to your computer.

Step

Click "Finish" to restore your computer back to the way it was working on an earlier date.
