How to Uninstall a "Steam" Game

Steam is an online game platform which is used to distribute video games to PCs and host online multi-player gameplay. The Steam game library boasts more than 3,000 titles, from small independently-produced games to mainstream titles. To uninstall a "Steam" game you can use the "Add or Remove Programs" applet in the Control Panel. The uninstall process should only take a few moments.

Windows 7 and Vista

Step 1

Click "Start."

Step 2

Click "Control Panel."

Step 3

Click "Programs" and "Programs and Features."

Step 4

Select "Steam" or the name of the Steam game you wish to uninstall from the list of installed programs and click "Uninstall." Follow the instructions, which will include pressing "OK" to begin the uninstall and "Finish" once it is over.

Windows XP

Step 1

Click "Start."

Step 2

Click "Control Panel."

Step 3

Click "Add or Remove Programs."

Step 4

Select "Steam" or the name of the Steam game from the list and click "Remove." Follow the instructions, which will include pressing "OK" to begin the uninstall and "Finish" once it is over.
