When you receive a call on your landline phone while watching your favorite program, you don't have to wonder whether you should take it. You can check the number without even looking at your phone. Your DirecTV receiver can tell you the number of the caller by displaying a popup on your TV screen. All you need is the telephone cable that came with your receiver, and a subscription to the caller ID service on your home phone account.
