The Samsung LED 6000 and the Samsung LED 7000 are two series of high-definition televisions that use light-emitting diode technology from Samsung Electronics, the South Korean consumer electronics manufacturer. The 7000 series is positioned as being generally more advanced than the 6000. At the time of publication, a prime example is the comparison between a pair of 60-inch entries under Samsung's wireless technology-armed Smart TV brand: the UN60D6000VFXZA and the UN60D7000VFXZA.

Both the UN60D6000VFXZA and the UN60D7000VFXZA have a native graphic display resolution of 1,920-by-1,080 pixels, which is the highest display standard for HDTVs. The 6000-series TV's dynamic contrast ratio, which is the ratio of its display's luminosity of its brightest and darkest color produced over time, is 5 million-to-1. The 7000-series TV's dynamic contrast ratio is thrice that of the 6000-series TV, at 15 million-to-1. Also, while each TV operates in 2-D mode, the 7000-series entry also functions as a 3-DTV.

Audio and Convenience Features

Using SRS TheaterSound for its sound effect system, each UN60D6000VFXZA and UN60D7000VFXZA has two built-in stereo speakers, each of which produces 15 watts of audio power. Convenience features include clock, on/off and sleep timer, ConnectShare feature to access digital content via the remote, AllShare content sharing service and Anynet+ for controlling multiple Samsung electronic devices. Added on the 7000-series TV are features such as Eco Sensor for automatic display lighting and dimming and the Skype application for making voice calls over the Internet.

Each UN60D6000VFXZA and UN60D7000VFXZA has four High-Definition Multimedia Interfaces, which are used for transmitting uncompressed digital audio/video content. Other connectors of the HDTVs include component video and composite audio/video connectors, 15-pin Video Graphic Array port for connecting the TV to a personal computer, three USB 2.0 ports and a digital optical audio output.

Physical Dimensions, Weight and Price

Without its stand, the UN60D6000VFXZA has a width of 55.2 inches, height of 32.7 inches and depth of 1.2 inches, with a weight of 52 lbs. The UN60D7000VFXZA is slightly smaller and lighter: measuring 54.3 by 31.5 by 1.2 inches without its stand, and weighing 50.5 lbs. At the time of publication, the manufacturer's suggested retail price for the UN60D6000VFXZA is $2,800, while the UN60D7000VFXZA's price is $3,800.
