How Do I Cancel an Audible.com Membership?

By Steven Melendez

You can cancel your Audible.com membership through the site's "Cancel Membership" page. You'll get to keep your books, but you'll lose any unused credits.

Cancel your Audible membership through the site's Cancel Membership page.

Warning

If you have any credits on your account to use toward buying audio books, use them before you cancel, or you'll lose them. You can listen to books you've already bought after you cancel your membership, but any unused credits you have are lost.

Tip

  • You can't cancel your Audible membership through the site's smartphone apps or mobile site--only through its full site designed for a computer or tablet.
  • You can still buy audio books after canceling your membership, but you won't get the member discount.

Step 1

To cancel your membership, load the site's Cancel Membership page. Scroll down until you see the Want to Cancel Anyway? section.

Step 2

Provide a reason for cancellation.

Tell Audible why you're canceling your membership by clicking one of the choices in the Select a Reason menu, or select I'd Rather Not Give a Reason to cancel without telling Audible why. Click Continue.

Step 3

Consider the special offer.

Audible will offer you a discount to encourage you to remain a member. Consider the terms of the offer, and make sure you still want to cancel.

Step 4

Click

If you no longer want to cancel, click I Want This! to accept the offer. To cancel your account, click Continue Canceling.

Continue to evaluate any additional offers, clicking I Want This! to accept the offer or Continue Canceling to cancel your membership.

Step 5

Click

After the final offer, click Finish Canceling to cancel your membership.
