A file with the MSDVD file extension is a Microsoft Windows DVD Maker project file. The MSDVD file format does not contain the actual video media. Therefore, to convert the MSDVD file to another video format, you need to do so on the computer on which the MSDVD file was made. The original video data can be retrieved from its original location, and the MSDVD project file converted to another video file type using Windows Movie Maker.
