How to Find Media Player on My Computer

When you need to play a video on your computer but you do not know where to look, remember that Microsoft Windows has a built-in video player called Windows Media Player. To access Windows Media Player, go through the "Start" menu. The "Start" menu conveniently lists all of the programs installed on your computer.

Step 1

Click the "Start" button in the bottom left-hand corner of the screen.

Step 2

Click "All Programs."

Step 3

Click on "Windows Media Player" to open Windows Media Player. To play a file inside Windows Media Player, right-click the top of Windows Media Player's screen. Click "File," then "Open." In the window that appears, double-click a video file to open it.

Tips & Warnings

  • Another option is to type "player" into your search bar, which should bring up Windows Media Player and other media players you may have on your computer.
