Sometimes you send a text to someone that you later feel you should have sent to more people. Other times, you receive a text that you believe would be good to share with others. Thankfully, your iPhone gives you a straightforward way to resend texts you previously sent or received. You can send the same text as often as you need to and to as many people as you want.
Locate the text message you want to resend. Tap "Messages" on your Home screen to see the list of all text messages you have sent and received, organized by recipient. Tap the name of the recipient to whom you sent or from whom you received the original text message.
Tap the "Edit" button on the upper right-hand corner of your screen. This will display a little circle next to each text message to or from your contact. Tap the circle next to the message you want to resend; it will transform into a red circle with a white check mark.
Tap the "Forward" button on the lower right-hand corner of your screen. A new message screen containing the original text message will pop open. Type a new contact mobile number in the "To" field and hit "Return" on the lower right-hand corner, or select an existing contact by tapping the "+" sign to pull up your directory of contacts.
Tap "Send" to transmit your text to the new recipient. You may repeat this process to resend your text to other recipients individually or you may send your text to multiple recipients simultaneously by including them all in the "To" field before hitting "Send."
You may use the above process to resend multimedia messages containing pictures and videos. You can add a short explanatory note before the original text to help your recipients understand why you are sending it. For example, “Just received this from Dad. FYI.”
