Some car DVD players come with remotes.

Including DVD players in automobiles is becoming standard on many new vehicles, especially minivans and SUVs often bought by families with small children. DVD and TV combinations in these cars are not meant for the driver to watch because of the enormous distraction it would be. So the screens for these DVD players often are placed so that only passengers in the rear can see them. In some states installing a TV in the front of the car is illegal. As such, playing a DVD while driving is just a matter of operating the player even though the driver will not see the screen.

Step 1

Turn on the car by putting the keys in the ignition. You have to turn the starter to the accessories option to start the DVD player before the car starts. Put the radio setting to DVD player.

Step 2

Insert the DVD in the DVD player. Turn on the player if it does not automatically come on by pressing the power or play button.

Step 3

Choose to play the DVD or select any options from the front panel of the DVD player. You may even have a remote to control these settings. Start the car and travel to your destination. It is best to let someone else control the DVD. DVD options such as volume, start and next chapter may also be controlled by the radio.
