There are three different ways to reset an Avaya 9600 series phone. The first method is called a "restart," and essentially reboots the phone without removing any important data. This is similar to rebooting a computer, and is useful if the phone is not performing properly. The second method is called a "reset." This option removes some system settings, but keeps user information, such as contacts. The final method is called a "clear," and completely removes all existing data and settings on the phone. A "clear" returns the Avaya phone to its factory default settings.
