The Bose CineMate Series II is a digital home theater system designed to provide an exceptional surround sound experience. This compact system features the Proprietary TrueSpace technology which provides great depth and clarity, improved digital acoustic performance and room-filling quality. It is designed to connect directly to the TV or DVD player and eliminates the need for a receiver. As with other home theater systems, you may experience some installation or performance issues. However, most of these problems can be fixed without the help of a professional. Save yourself time and money by following these troubleshooting tips.
Unplug the Acoustimass unit. Wait one minute, then plug the power cord back into the electrical socket. Try a different electrical outlet, or check your breakers if the system is still not working.

Unplug the Acoustimass unit. Make sure the power cord is securely inserted into the back of the module, then plug the power cord into a wall outlet. The green LED light should flash 10 times, then enter standby mode.
Use the remote control to turn on the system. Do not try to power on the system manually.
Make sure the interface module is properly connected to the Acoustimass module.
Make sure the system is turned on. You should see a small green light on the front of the interface module. Unplug the power cord, wait a minute, then plug it back in if you do not see the green light.
Make sure the TV is not muted. If it is, press the "Mute" button on your TV remote, then increase the volume.
Check that the Interface module and speaker cables are securely plugged into the back of the Acoustimass unit. Check the connections between the Interface module and the TV, and make sure the wires on the back of the speakers are firmly attached.
Press the "TV/Video" button on the remote control to select the correct TV Video Input. Choose between TV, Video 1, Video 2 and AUX depending on what source you are using. Make sure the TV audio input is enabled. If it is not, navigate through your TV's menus to change the setting.
Make sure the TV's internal speakers are turned off if the audio input is "Variable."
Remote Control Issues
Remove the batteries from the remote. Insert fresh batteries according to the polarity guide inside the battery compartment.
Move the Interface module to a different location in the room and remove any obstructions. Make sure the module is in a direct line to the remote control.
Make sure the protective film on the front of the Interface module has been removed.
Press any button on the remote and check to see if the green LED lights on the Interface module illuminate. Check to see if the source button on the remote control blinks when you press it. There may be more than one device code for your particular brand of device. Look up your device in the Universal Device Codes book, then try programming a different code.
