Before you sell, donate or discard your LG phone, it is wise to clear all of the phone settings. This will ensure that you erase all of your personal information, such as photos, messages and contacts. Otherwise known as a master reset, you will notice that your LG phone will return to the original factory default settings. Resetting the settings on your LG phone is a simple and quick task.
Verify that the SIM card is inside your LG phone.
Press the "Menu" button on your LG phone.
Locate "Settings and Tools," and then press the "OK" button.
Scroll down and select "Phone Settings," followed by "Security."
Enter your unlock code, if you have one, or the last four digits of your cell phone number if you do not.
Select the option to reset default settings. Confirm your selection by selecting "Revert," and then select "OK." Wait for the phone to restart.
Press the "Menu" button again, select "Settings and Tools" and then select "Phone Settings," followed by "Security."
Enter your unlock code or the last four digits of your cell phone number, and then select "Restore Phone." This will permanently erase the data, messages and contacts off your LG phone.
Enter your unlock code again. Wait for the phone to restart.
