How to Get Collect Calls With MetroPCS

By Robert Ceville

Although MetroPCS does not allow collect calls to be received on its phones, call-forwarding is available, which routes the collect calls to another line. Collect calls are made with the understanding that the receiving party is responsible for the cost of the call. Since MetroPCS provides service at a flat fee to users, additional collect call fees cannot be added to bills. Redirect calls being placed to your MetroPCS phone to a land line phone to accept collect calls.

Things You'll Need

  • Landline phone

Step 1

Power on your MetroPCS phone. Hold down the phone's "END" button until the MetroPCS welcome appears. Wait for the phone to become operational.

Step 2

Press "*72," then enter the 10-digit local land line number you wish to direct the collect calls to. Many cell phone providers do not allow collect calls to be accepted, so entering a land line number is usually your best option.

Step 3

Press "Send" to activate the call-forwarding feature. Every call that is placed to your MetroPCS mobile phone number will now be redirected to the land-line phone.

Step 4

Answer your land-line phone when the collect call is forwarded. Follow the audible instructions for accepting the collect call. Wait for the caller's name to be given, then speak the word "Accept" when prompted. You will now be connected to the collect caller.

Step 5

Press "*73," then "SEND" on your MetroPCS phone after you are done receiving collect calls. The call-forwarding feature will be deactivated.
