How to Make Greeting Cards Using Microsoft PowerPoint or Word

If you want to create a greeting card, you can do so by using Microsoft Word or Microsoft PowerPoint. When you use Word or PowerPoint, you have access to the many templates provided by Microsoft Office Online. There are several greeting card categories you can choose from and many greeting card styles within the categories. It only takes a few clicks of the mouse to create a greeting card that you can personalize.


Step 1

Open Microsoft Word or PowerPoint and click the Office button; select "New" from the drop-down menu. Template options will open in the "New Document" or "New Presentation" box.

Look to the "Microsoft Office Online" template section and click "Greeting Cards." The different greeting card categories will open in the pane to the left of the menu.


Step 3

Click on a greeting card category; you can pick from holidays, occasions and events, and thank you categories. The different cards available for the categories you selected will open in a same window.


Step 4

Scroll through the different greeting cards. When you find one you like, select the card and then click the "Download" button located at the bottom, right-hand corner of the window. The greeting card template will download and open as a new document or presentation, depending on which Office program you use.
