How to Receive Faxes Over a Cell Phone

Receiving faxes on a cell phone will allow you to get information when you don't have access to a computer. All that you need is a service and a web enabled phone and you can begin receiving your faxes as an email. You don't even need a fax machine, an extra phone line or any software.

Things You'll Need

  • Web enabled phone
  • Adobe acrobat for cell phones.

Step 1

Set up an account with a fax to email service. These will change any fax to a PDF file and send it to your email address. Some of the services that you can consider are eFax, Myfax or As of 2010 these range in price from $4.99 to $12.95 per month.

Step 2

Register for the site. You will need to create a password and user name and choose the country where you want the phone number. Select the phone number. Enter in your credit card details. Click "Submit."

Step 3

Use the phone number of the fax service. When someone sends a fax to this number you will receive it as an email.

Step 4

Go to your email software on your phone and open it up. You will receive the fax in an email as a PDF attachment. Click on the document to download it and click on the file to open.
